McGill Associates Adds Water Resources Program
Michael A. Hanson, PE, LEED AP, Now Serving as Director of Water Resources.
McGill Associates continues to expand and diversify its services offerings, meeting the needs of communities across North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. On August 6, 2018, Michael A. Hanson, PE, LEED AP, joined the firm to lead McGill’s Water Resources Program.
“While McGill has offered planning, design, and construction services for stormwater for many years, the addition of Mike Hanson gives us the ability to address all aspects of water resources, which continues to grow in importance to our clients,” stated Joel Storrow, President of McGill Associates.
Building upon McGill’s current stormwater program, the Water Resources Program will offer Stormwater NPDES and TMDL Regulatory Compliance, Stormwater Utility Creation and Support, Stormwater Inventory and Master Planning, BMP Retrofits, Asset Inventory, Green Infrastructure, FEMA Flood Studies (LOMR/CLOMR), GIS Based Flood Modeling, Watershed Master Planning, and Water Quality Monitoring and Modeling.
Michael Hanson brings more than 26 years of experience designing and managing a variety of civil / water resources engineering projects to McGill. His experience includes watershed assessments, stormwater master planning, wetland creation, stream restoration, regional flood control, and water quality improvement projects. Michael has supported NCDOT and municipalities with NPDES permitting, Jordan Lake Rules, Tar-Pam, and Neuse rule implementation and compliance. His experience also includes a deep knowledge of the use of hydrologic and hydraulic models for flood mapping and design of stormwater best management practices (BMP) for water quality improvements through pollutant load reduction and ecosystem enhancement.
